Trip Summary
We started from Varden and went down to Bjørgeveien, which we followed until the point, where we could leave the road towards Kjerreidvika (on the left, western side). Down at the sea, it is possible to find a narrow path on the northern side, which surrounds Ørnahaugen, passing by Djupakastet, leading to Hestabakken. There, we ascended upwards---in eastern direction---until we came close to the buildings up there. Before actually reaching the houses at Bjørndalsskogen, we turned left and crossed a small height, before stepping down into the "main square" of Bjørndalsskogen. We crossed over to the other, northern side, where we left the street, again, ascending to the hill north of Bjørndalsssskogen. After stepping over the first top, we crossed over to Kampen on the northwestern end of this small forrest area. After having enjoyed some nice view from Kampen, we turned around and followed the ridge in northeastern direction, passing by Straumsfjellet. Changing more and more into a northern direction, we followed the ridge over and down, coming close Bjørndalsbrotet on the other end. Before it became too steep, we turned right and connected through some houses to the street (Bjørndalsbrotet). From there, we connected back to Bjørgeveien, crossing it also, and getting over to Bjørndalsstølen. There, we first tried to get up to the ridge that connects to Kanadaskogen, but were advised to instead surround it by turning right. This let us descend to Bjørndalsvatnet, which we followed then on its northeastern side. Before coming close to a small island in Bjørndalsvatnet, we crossed a little stream and ascended towards Hesjaholtet (but instead of stepping out of Kanadaskogen towards Hesjaholtet, we continued in southern direction, ending up in Veslefrikkveien, instead). From there, we crossed over to the soccer fields behind FraMo-hallen, and further then, leading us back to Varden.
