A colleague of mine have on numerous accounts suggested a trip to Livarden the days football practice have been cancelled, but we have never done it, for numerous reasons. Though in the back of my mind I have been thinking, based on the information in the local newspaper Bergens Tidende trip guide, that it would take a bit more time than the duration of our average football practice.
Today I decided to try out Livarden. It starts with a windy small road through the Totland area up to Fanahytten. Amazing that there are such roads so close to the big city. Now on the way up I met in total 7 persons in three differende groups, all of them in the first third of the way. Apparently they must have been on an early morning trip. But the incredible experience this day, was that for the rest of the ascent, during the break on the top, and during the descent, I didn't meet anyone. I had all this fantastic mountain and views all for myself. No noise, no talking, no whispers, no nothing. Alone with the mountain and the views.
Well, I met some locals, as you can see in one picture. And I will have to return to Livarden, to see if I was just lucky to choose a day with few hikers, or lucky to have found a little used but great mountain. Oh, and the trip takes definitely more time than our average football training.
