Profile

Under the tab Profile you will find some key information about your user account. Most of these can be changed, whereas a few, like username, cannot be changed. For some of these information items you can also apply your preferred display status:

• Public - The information is visible to other users.
• Hidden - The information is hidden to other users.
• Restricted - The information is only visible to other user whom you select yourself. (This function will not be implemented for a while. Choosing restricted will therefore have the same effect as choosing public for the time being)

The different items one by one

• Username - This is chosen upon registering your account the first time. You cannot change this yourself later. An administrator can do this on request if you have good reasons for the need to change.
• Firstname
• Surname - First- and surname is not required but we encourage everyone to supply it. You can choose to keep it hidden. You can also for instance choose that only the firstname shall be public.
• Password - Password was given upon creation of account. If you want to change it, you do this by filling out your new password in both password fields. Complete the operation by clicking on the save button on the lower right part of the screen.
• Postal adress - Perhaps a somewhat antique piece of contact information these days, but it is there anyway for those who would like to supply it.
• Phone number - This is also a field that is not compulsory to fill out.
• EMail - Each and every account must have a valid email address in order to be created and activated. If you keep using the account with an email address that no longer works, your account may in the worst case be deactivated. You may change the address anytime and as often as you like, but we encourage you to always keep it a valid one, otherwise you might miss out on important information and news.
• Website - If you have your own website, you can supply a link to it here.
• Other contact information - If you have any.
• Birthday - This is voluntary, but we encourage users to supply this piece of information. Feel free to keep it hidden, but it may be the base of some interesting statistics.
• Country - Country of residence. Voluntary, but we encourage you to fill it out.
• Language 1 - Your primary language.
• Language 2 - If a word or a language element is not available in your primary language, the application will display the information in your secondary language if available. If neither is available the so-called default language will be displayed. All elements (for instance geographical places) has a default language and usually a number of translations.
• Unit - For now this applies only to elevation. Choose between metric or feet.
• Reference - Choose whether you prefer coordinates displayed as UTM-coordinates or as long. / lat. in decimal form.
• Avatar - The profile always appears more personal if one supply an image. For the time being this has to be scaled in advance within 120x120 pixels.
